Buys presents for the bridesmaids
Organises transport for himself and the bride to the reception
Arranges and pays for the honeymoon

The Chief Bridesmaid
Helps the bride with choosing the wedding outfit
Organises the hen night party
Is in charge of the bridesmaids and the younger members of the wedding party
Attends the wedding rehearsal
On the day, ensures that everything goes according to a set timetable
Helps bride and the get ready on time and ensures that bride's wedding dress looks the part on the day
Holds the bouquet during the ceremony
Helps serve the cake
After the reception helps the bride to change and takes charge of the wedding dress
With the best man looks after the wedding gifts |
The Best Man
Keeps in close touch with all the arrangements
Organises the stag night party
Is in charge of the ushers, knows the seating plans for the ceremony and the reception
Attends the wedding rehearsal
On behalf of the groom, pays the church fees
Looks after the wedding rings
Assembles guests for the wedding photographs
Checks that all quests have transport to the reception
If there is no toastmaster, organises the time for cutting the cake and introduces the speakers
Makes a speech and proposes the toast to the bridesmaids
Looks after the grooms wedding clothes and returns them if they have been hired |
Bridesmaids
On the day, help bride with her dress

Flower Girl
Carries a basket of flowers or petals
After the ceremony walks down the aisle in front of the bride and groom and throws petals in their path

Ushers
Plan parking arrangements
Look after the Order of Service Sheets
Arrive at least 40 minutes before the ceremony is due to start
Show guests to their seats, give out buttonholes
Help wedding photographer/videographer organise group shots
After the ceremony they are responsible for escorting the quests from the church and for seeing that everyone reaches the reception venue

Arranges wedding announcement in the newspapers
Consults the groom's family about the invitations for their guests, sends out invitations and keeps checklist of replies, makes list of the guests for the ushers
Organises the reception
Looks after the wedding gift list
Attends the signing of the registrar
Sends the cake to those who could not attend the wedding |
Bride's Father
Pays for the wedding stationary, flowers in the church and the music
Plans and pays for the reception and the bride's transport
Attends the wedding rehearsal
Last to leave the house with the bride, walks with her down the aisle and gives her away

Escorts the groom's mother from the church
