Who Does What at the Wedding

 

Whether you are planning a traditional wedding or just would like to delegate some of the organisational tasks onto other members of the wedding party, this guide will help you to find out who is responsible for what at your wedding.

Picks the wedding date and the type of ceremony.

Chooses her wedding outfit

Chooses the bridesmaids, pageboys and their clothes

Coordinates the theme of the wedding and the dress code of other members of the wedding party

Writes out thank you cards for the guests

Buys a wedding present for the groom

Throws her bouquet at the reception

Chooses his best man and the ushers

Works out the budget

Buys the wedding rings

Pays all fees and expenses at the church

Pays for the bride's bouquet, bouquets for the bridesmaids and buttonholes

Buys presents for the bridesmaids

Organises transport for himself and the bride to the reception

Arranges and pays for the honeymoon

Makes a speech at the reception

Helps the bride with choosing the wedding outfit

Organises the hen night party

Is in charge of the bridesmaids and the younger members of the wedding party

Attends the wedding rehearsal

On the day, ensures that everything goes according to a set timetable

Helps bride and the get ready on time and ensures that bride's wedding dress looks the part on the day

Holds the bouquet during the ceremony

Helps serve the cake

After the reception helps the bride to change and takes charge of the wedding dress

Keeps in close touch with all the arrangements

Looks after the wedding gift list

Attends the signing of the registrar

Sends the cake to those who could not attend the wedding

Pays for the wedding stationary, flowers in the church and the music

Plans and pays for the reception and the bride's transport

Attends the wedding rehearsal

Last to leave the house with the bride, walks with her down the aisle and gives her away

Attends the signing of the registrar

Escorts the groom's mother from the church
