| Prestbury High Street |
With attractive houses, thatched cottages and picturesque pubs, Prestbury High Street offers a pleasant shopping experience. Soft honey coloured stone walls, timber framed buildings and thatched or Cotswold stone tiled roofs are the features of some of the shops, the tradition of which goes back to the beginning of the last century.
King's Arms, famous Prestbury inn, the landlord of which once was father of Fred Archer, a horse racing legend, has beautiful hanging basket display throughout the summer.
The Burgage where additional shops can be found is the place where the old Market Place was, when Prestbury was a small market town, and this tucked-away quarter of the village hasn't changed much since then. Picturesque pubs such as The Plough Inn and The Royal Oak are nearby.
