| Lower High Street |
The Lower end of High Street, which is sometimes referred to as West End, has retained some of the characteristics of old Cheltenham. It features some of the oldest surviving town houses dating back to the late 17th century. The Shakespeare Inn at number 388 is one of the oldest inns in town, recorded trading as early as 1800.
Along the way towards Tewkesbury Road numerous specialist independent shops offer residents and visitors alike their products and services.
