| London Road |
An old turnpike, London Road in Charlton Kings, has always been in the centre of local community. At the upper part called Six Ways, where Greenway Lane, Ryeworth Road, Copt Elm Road and Cudnall Street meet with London Road, local residents and visitors alike can enjoy shopping in countless independent shops, including gift and antiques shops and other specialist shops.
Cafes, sandwich bars and restaurants offer a wide range of menus. London Inn, a picturesque pub with lovely hanging basket displays, was built in 1825 by Sampson Mitchell, innkeeper.
At the lower end of London Road, where it meets up with Keynsham Road and Hales Road, on the edge of Battledown, more shops are available, and even closer towards the town centre, imposing houses called Oxford Parade were built in the second decade of the 19th century.
