Greenbelt Festival is UK's largest Christian festival, featuring music, seminars, theatre, literature, and many other activities. The first ever Greenbelt festival in 1974 on Prospect Farm in Suffolk. In 1999 Greenbelt moved away from its traditional green-field location to Cheltenham Racecourse. In the five years since this move, numbers of festival-goers have nearly quadrupled and in 2004 Greenbelt played host to 17,500 people.
Performing arts events are staged in The Centaur indoor arena, smaller shows then in a Little Big Top. Greenbelt hosts the groundbreaking Bassline Circus, workshops and plenty of street theatre. Novelists, poets, interviews, workshops, talks, stand-up comedy, worship, music concerts – Greenbelt provides something for everybody.
