Dean Close School's Bacon Theatre owes its name to one of its headmasters who raised funds to fullfill his dream to build a theatre. Completed in 1991, the Theatre is not only at the heart of Dean Close School's Drama Department but also a receiving venue of many professional and amateur shows throughout the year. The theatre is fully equipped to professional standard with the latest in audio-visual technology with seating capacity of 566 on two levels. In October it serves as the venue for Cheltenham Literature Festival events, and in July The Open Air Theatre Festival takes place in the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, which is also located in the theatre's grounds.

Bacon Theatre also serves as a venue for film nights. Quality films, both English speaking and foreign with English subtitles which might not be available at the multi screen cinemas, are shown Tuesday nights. Cheltenham Film Society uses Bacon Theatre for their screenings as well.

Opened in 1997, the more intimate Prince Michael Hall which is also located in the grounds, is a vibrantly designed 120 seat concert venue which houses several chamber ensembles, recitals and smaller scale musical events. It is fully equipped with full audiovisual technology and incorporates one of the few professional standard recording studios in the area.

A fully licensed bar is open for pre-show, interval and post-show drinks. Coffees, teas, and a wide selection of ice creams and confectionary are also on sale in the interval.
