Your Memories of the 1940s

Brunners Cafe, Cheltenham

I was teacher training at St. Mary's, Fulwood Park between 1943-43, the best years of my life! I met my husband, Norman Davidson who was also training at St. Paul's. Does anyone have a picture of Brunners, the cafe near St. Mary's Church? We spent many happy hours there and would love to see a picture if anyone has one.

Palace cinema

No mention has been made of the Palace cinema which used to stand on the High Street where Marks and Spencers is now. Although not relevant to the 40s the Coliseum cinema in the 30s hosted both Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy.
