Cheltenham Racecourse will traditionally host a dazzling evening of musical entertainment, fun packed fairground and one of the largest firework displays coordinated to themed music in the South West of England. The ’gut girls’ of Deptford, in Victorian London, are a rowdy, boisterous bunch who have mouths like sailors and are as strong as the oxen they gut. By day they are up to their knees in freshly slaughtered animal entrails, but in the evening they are their own women. This is a gutsy, ‘in yer face’ production which is at the same time heart warming, harrowing and humorous. Performances start at 7.45pm (No Sunday performance).

In 1927, the people of Cheltenham gave a concert in the Town Hall for Cheltenham-born Gustav Holst. Holst himself conducted his most famous work, The Planets. This concert harks back to that honour and features Martyn Brabbins conducting the Salomon Orchestra in the Planets.The famous cellist Julian Lloyd Webber will also feature.

Cheltenham's award winning farmers' market is held on the second and last Friday of each month by the Long Gardens on the Promenade. It is open from 9.00am to 3.00pm and is a great opportunity to sample and buy locally grown and made produce from Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

The Open represents three days of the best that racing has to offer and is the biggest and most important meeting of the first half of the Jumps season, with £750,000 in prize money up for grabs. It provides thrilling competition between many of the best Jump horses in Europe, large and enthusiastic crowds creating a special atmosphere and even the opportunity to spend your winnings in the tented village. The highlight of the meeting is Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup, a race that has been a high point of the Autumn racing calendar since 1960. The gates open at 10am, first race is on at 12.50pm and last race runs at 4pm. Tickets start from £9.

The annual German-style Christmas Market is coming to the Promenade on 14 November. It will feature 50 retailers. Since 2003 when it first appeared in the Promenade, Cheltenham Christmas Market has become a popular Christmas attraction in the region. Stalls will include hand blown, hand painted glass Christmas decorations and baubles, wooden carved animals and ornaments, and Hungarian and German puppets. You'll be able to buy traditional wooden toys as well as Russian crafts and dolls. There will be musical instruments from around the world, jewellery made from cones and flowers. Refreshments will include mulled wine and bratwurst which should keep shoppers warm.

Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra will be performing Music for Woodwind with Conductor Gavin Sutherland at St. Andrew's Church, Montpellier. The concert will include music by Beethoven and Mozart. Surrey's premiere touring band Pete Mitchells Drive Band will be playing good time rock & blues at The Bayshill Inn, 85 St. George's Place, from 8.30pm.

A concert presented by Cantores with conductor John Holloway and organist John Wright to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the consecration of St. Stephen’s church. The programme will include settings of the words in the title, set by such diverse composers as Byrd, Poulenc and Morten Lauridsen. Nikki Coady and her Coady Crew would like to invite everybody to their performance at Bacon Theatre at Dean Close School. It promises to be an evening of great family entertainment featuring Street dance, Breakin, Singing, Chilled. Same as last year, Cheltenham Christmas Lights Switch On will take place in Imperial Gardens. Helping with the switch on will this year be the RnB girl band The Honeyz. From 3pm onwards there will be live entertainment throughout the town centre. Other activities on the day will include Christmas Lantern Making Workshops from 10.30am – 2.15pm at YMCA (free tickets are available from the Town Hall). From 5pm – 6.30pm the All-Star Christmas Party bursts onto the stage in the Imperial Gardens. Star 107.5FM DJs play all your favourite festive tunes alongside live entertainment.

From 12pm to 4pm the Brewery shopping centre are getting into the Christmas spirit with a Christmas Grotto and real live reindeer. The Magical Christmas grotto will remain open until Christmas every Saturday 11am – 5pm, every Sunday 12pm – 4pm, then Friday 19th December 11am – 3pm, Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th December 11am – 3pm.

Autumn Fair will be held at Leckhampton Village Hall in aid of the Village Hall Roof Fund. There will be home-made cakes and preserves, groceries, garden produce, handicrafts, fancy goods, gifts, jewelry, raffle, white elephant, books, toys, games, glass, china and much more. Entrance 20p.

A skating rink will be installed in the grounds of Montpellier Gardens under cover of a huge marquee giving skaters complete protection from the weather. The rink will measure 50ft x 80ft and is suitable for all ages, novices and experienced skaters. There will be a cafe on site offering hot drinks and snacks.

The well-known local choir, Philomusica will pay a return visit to Tewkesbury Abbey on Saturday 29 November. Partnered by their orchestra, they’ll be performing choral music by two popular English composers under the direction of their conductor, Linda Parsons. In between the two choral pieces clarinettist Wes Duggan will perform Mozart’s ever-popular Clarinet Concerto. The concert begins at 19.30 at Tewkesbury Abbey on Saturday November 29. The format of the Lollipop Lounge show is a cabaret performance and will encompass a whole range of different acts: comedy, dance, song or theatre. The staged performance itself will be hosted by the Master of Ceremonies and will promise to be a finale to remember! As its Christmas plus the finale show at Revolutions Vodka Bar, Cheltenham, there will be an extravagant party to end what has been an amazing run of performances.
