Dowty Slot Car Racing Club

CLASSES RACED AT DOWTY'S EACH WEEK
Week 1

1/24th BSCRA legal production car except we use a Parma 502 sealed motor and a sports car body. Costs about £40 for all the bits. Most of us use Champion turboflex chassis, some Mossetti. Proslot have just brought out a new one with a cutout for the motor.

Week 2

1/24th BSCRA legal production exactly as used in BSCRA racing; ie gp 12 motor and saloon body. You can use the car for week 1 with a saloon body, but you'll be giving about two laps away to the real thing. Cost about £60 upwards depending on the motor you get. Standard gp 12 are about £25, blue printed £40 upwards. You are allowed a ballrace in the can end of the motor but still oilites for the rear axle. Chassis as above.

Week 3

1/32nd BSCRA legal production. Falcon 7 motor. Also costs about £40. Motor is cheaper, chassis dearer. Everyone uses the demon chassis, although there are many others listed which would probably have to be bought 2nd hand.

Week 4

1/32nd BSCRA legal saloon. Can cost a lot of money. Chassis from £60. Best at the moment are probably the Mack chassis or BSP, or maybe the Gooding one. Gp 12 motor, ball races on the axles and can end of the motor.
